Audit Data Analytics Specialist

  • Hybrid
    • Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands
  • Audit

Job description

At JOINSON&SPICE, we work with leading tech companies and strongly believe in a data-driven approach, using our in-house developed software to deliver outstanding results. Innovation really does flow through our veins. Our team is growing (we aim to triple in size by 2028), and we work with fast-growing scale-up clients in Tech, both national and international who need more than just compliance — they need a Audit Data Analytics Specialist who thinks with them.

🧩 Your Day

Your morning starts with a coffee and a quick sync with the audit team to align on priorities. You’ll review open audit issues and think about which data sources or analyses can help resolve them. Midday, you might sit down with an auditor to translate their audit question (e.g. risk of revenue anomalies, completeness checks) into a data plan or algorithm. Later, you’ll work with the client to pull data, and then you build scripts or workflows (in Python, Power BI, Alteryx, etc.), run tests, and interpret results. You’ll then present findings and recommendations to the audit team, explaining what the numbers tell us and what further steps might be needed. Finally, you present your findings to the CTO or CFO of the client, and we reflect on the meaning. At the end of the day, you tidy up your analyses, document processes, and prepare for tomorrow’s tasks.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as a discussion partner for auditors: understand their audit questions and challenges, and translate them into data analytics solutions.

  • Develop, design, and execute data audit approaches to solve audit issues (e.g. anomalies, outliers, completeness, trend deviations).

  • Use Python, Power BI, Alteryx, or similar tools to perform data transformation, analysis, sampling, and testing.

  • Interpret results and present clear, actionable insights back to the audit team and client (in both technical and non-technical terms).

  • Ensure data quality, documentation of analytical procedures, and adherence to audit standards.

  • Contribute ideas to improve our data audit capabilities and methodology over time.

Job requirements

🧠 What You Bring

  • A background or experience in audit or accounting, combined with strong interest or experience in data analytics / data science.

  • A degree in Audit, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Hands-on experience with Python, Alteryx, Power BI, or similar data analytics / ETL / scripting tools.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills in English and/or Dutch, with the ability to explain complex data insights clearly.

  • At least several years of working experience in audit, analytics, or a related role

  • Curiosity, initiative, structured thinking, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • A mindset of translating business / audit problems into the right data questions, not just coding for coding’s sake.
